NEW DELHI: After commander-level military talks, India and China have agreed to maintain peace on the border. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has informed that a practical and in-depth discussion was held to solve the problems related to the line of actual control. It is said in the press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the two sides had a positive, constructive and in-depth discussion on the resolution of the remaining issues along the LAC in the Western Sector. They agreed to resolve the remaining issues expeditiously and maintain the momentum of dialogue and negotiations through military and diplomatic channels.
The indication is that there is no progress in the discussion about the military retreat in the Charding Nullah area of the Depsang and Demchok sectors. India demands that the Chinese military must withdraw from the area. Based on earlier discussions, the troops withdrew from the Galwan Valley, Pangong Tso, Gogra and Hot Spring areas. The two countries have deployed more than 60,000 soldiers in other sectors.
