THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Anagha Raj loved the movie Malikappuram. The film had a certain impact that the characters never left Anagha fully even after she left the theatre complex with her parents. At home, her mind would revolve just around 'Kallu', 'Piyush', and Lord Ayyappa. It was this urge to meet them for real that made her draw all the characters on paper; just from the mere recollection of what she saw in the theatre. Anagha is affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder. She was normal as a toddler but from the age of two, began to talk excessively and behave mischievously.

It was only after actor Unni Mukundan shared the drawing that the world came to know about Anagha's talent.

Rajeev, an auto driver, and Uma, a medical transcriptionist were shocked when the doctors revealed their daughter had autism. Anagha is now 13 years old. It was only during some idle hours at home in 2022 that Anagha tried her hand at drawing for the first time. Initially, she sketched the comic character 'Meesha Marjaran'. With big praise falling from family and friends, Anagha was happy enough to carry forward her pastime. The family's bedroom house is covered with Anagha’s drawings. She is an 8th-standard student in the specially-abled division of Pattam Girls School.

Anagha uses watercolor and color pencils at work. After completing the work, She will assiduously stick the drawings onto the wall. According to the family, Anagha’s quick addiction to drawing has sufficiently changed her attitude as she is now seen engaging in more talks with family and has stopped howling for petty needs.
