THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The University of Kerala has stated that the college authorities have severely failed in admitting former SFI leader Nikhil Thomas. He claimed to have a BCom from Kayamkulam MSM College to take admission for the M Com program using a forged certificate from Kalinga University in Chhattisgarh.
It is indeed a grave matter that the teaching staff did not recognize the student's fraudulent admission. Actions will be taken against the Principal and the Head of the Commerce Department. During the syndicate meeting, it was decided to issue a preliminary show cause notice. Once a response is received the college will be directed to remove both.
The Registrar of Kalinga University has informed that the certificate, mark list, TC and provisional certificate presented at Kerala University are counterfeit. According to the registrar's report, this admission with a fake certificate has significantly damaged the university's reputation. The registration and equivalence certificate issued to Nikhil have been nullified. Every page of the curriculum and syllabus from Kalinga University, as well as the TC under the university's college name were fabricated for the purpose of obtaining an Eligibility Certificate. All of these documents have been verified as false.
Additionally, it has come to light that the college had received inquiries about Nikhil's fraudulent degree several months ago but the authorities concealed this information. The college officials have disclosed that Nikhil, who also held the position of college union councillor was granted admission based on a recommendation from a former syndicate member.
