KOCHI: In connection with students insulting a visually impaired teacher at Maharajas College, the commission of inquiry will submit its report within seven days. The three-member commission is headed by teacher Dr. Suja, a member of the governing council. Vice-principal Bindu Sharmila told Keralakaumudi that the suspension of all six students, including KSU unit vice-president Mohammad Fazil, will continue until the report is received. Apart from Mohammad Fazil, V Ragesh, NR Priyatha, M Aditya, Nandana Sagar and Fatima Naflam were suspended.
Teacher Priyesh said that he has pardoned the hurtful act on the part of the children. "They should understand the mistake. The incident should not affect the future of the students. Students don't know the extent of the problems faced by people like me. It takes more than two hours of struggle to teach one hour.", he said.
Principal VS Joy stated that the stand of the college on the issue has been clarified earlier and the media will be informed about the progress of the investigation today.
A complaint will be lodged with the central police today asking for a case. On Wednesday, the teacher complained that some students disrupted the class and disrespected his impairment.
