KOCHI: The Maharajas College will take legal action against the students for insulting a blind teacher in the classroom. The management will file a complaint with the police and the decision was taken in the college council meet. A police complaint is being filed demanding that a case be filed against the students under the Protection of Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act. The college suspended six students, including KSU leader Fazil in the incident.

The students insulted BA Political Science teacher Priyesh in the classroom. A video had surfaced of students looking at their phones and pulling their chairs while the teacher was in the class. The teacher is also seen being teased behind his back in the video. After the video shot by the students in the class surfaced on social media, there was a lot of criticism. The college took action after the video including the KSU leader went viral.

Meantime, state president Aloysius Xavier said in a press conference yesterday that the KSU leader has no role in the incident. The allegation and action against unit vice president Muhammad Fazil is false. Aloysius Xavier also alleged that there is a conspiracy of left-wing teacher and non-teacher student organizations behind this.
