THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government is likely to announce a vigilance probe against Mathew Kuzhalnadan MLA. The investigation is on the complaint for evading tax in Chinnakanal. Another complaint of laundering money through lawyer’s office is also before the vigilance. The complaint was filed by CPM Ernakulam district secretary C N Mohanan. The vigilance investigation may be announced in a few days.

Although permission was obtained for the building in Chinnakanal, allegations were raised for irregularities. It is alleged that the application for permission to construct a new building was given by hiding the existing building. In the complaint filed by Mohanan, it has been stated that Mathew Kuzhalnadan acquired the land worth seven crores and the luxury resort in Chinnakanal through tax evasion. In a press meet in Kaloor, Mohanan revealed that he registered the land at a price of only 1.92 crores and evaded stamp duty. Mohanan also alleged that the sub-registrar of Idukki Rajakumary did the registration without even conducting a site inspection.

However, Mathew Kuzhalnadan, who rejected the allegations, said that a detailed reply will be given to the CPM today. There is a house and land in Chinnakanal. Mathew Kuzhalnadan stated that all the documents were given along with the election affidavit.
