KOCHI: The management of Maharaja's College has lodged a complaint with the police against the students for insulting a visually impaired teacher in the classroom at Maharaja's College. In its complaint filed with the Central Police, the college management demanded that a case be registered against the students under the Protection of Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act. The management took action as per the decision of the college council.
BA Political Science teacher Priyesh was insulted by the students inside the classroom. A video had surfaced showing the students, including KSU unit vice-president Fazil, insulting the teacher during class time. The video showed students looking at their phones and pulling their chairs while the teacher was in class. The video also showed the students mocking the teacher behind his back. The college suspended six students, including Fazil, after the video became controversial.
