For Aby John, his momo shop is the way to make his dreams come true. Aby John (23), a mechanical engineer aims to secure capital for an automobile workshop. To achieve this, 'The Cafe Circle,' which opened last January at Kakkanad Infopark Expressway, has now become the favorite hangout of techies.

A native of Vellayambalam, Thiruvananthapuram, Aby prepares and serves the dishes on his own. The daily turnover ranges from 3500 to 5500 rupees yielding a profit of 2,000 to 3,000 rupees per day. He requires 20 lakhs to initiate the workshop. He graduated from Marthandam Maria College of Engineering and Technology with 80 percent marks in Mechanical Engineering in 2021.

Aby's offerings include momos with variations like steamed chicken, mixed vegetables and paneer along with fried shawarma, french fries, bread omelet, buttered bread omelet, cheese bread omelet, bread butter toast, mojitos, lime soda and lime juice. The shop operates from 4 PM to 12 AM.

The Rs 39 meal at his mother Shalin's 'Ente Chottupathram' shop in Vellayambalam is also a success. She taught him how to prepare momos. Given that Infopark has a substantial North Indian population, business is thriving. Amma's friend provided Rs 2.5 lakh as initial capital for the shop. Of this, 25 percent has been repaid.

Aby is gearing up to franchise the shop. Successful candidates will receive six months of training. He resides in a rented house in Irumpanam. His only sister, Elise John is a doctor in Delhi.

A shop that have accessories and alteration of cars is in my mind. Work is underway to provide franchises of Momos Shop all over Kerala.
