Aluva Joint RTO B Shefiq has suspended for 20 days the license of conductor Anto Rafi and driver MH Shamir of Ayesha Mol bus plying the Aluva-Island route.

The incident took place at Aluva Pump Junction at around 4:30 pm on the 9th. The student was coming home to his house in Chembakassery from Bank Junction after tuition. The bus left Pump Junction before the student deboarded. The bag which was on his shoulders and both legs were inside the bus and the head and body were outside the door of the bus. When the bus proceeded for about 50 meters on the same condition, the passengers raised their voices in alarm and stopped the bus. The student could get off only after that. The bus left without taking the injured student to the hospital or informing his family or the police.

Aluva police registered a case against the driver and conductor following a complaint filed by the student's mother. The license was suspended on the basis of an inquiry report submitted by Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector K Santhoshkumar following a complaint to the Motor Vehicle Department.

Still in shock

The student's escape was miraculous. The mother told 'Kerala Kaumudi' that her son is still in shock. 'It was the school bag that saved my son from the carelessness of the bus staff. My son did not fall from the moving bus onto the road only because the bag stayed inside the door of the bus.' The mother said that she filed the complaint so that such a tragedy does not happen to anyone else.
