KOCHI: CPM has once again lashed out at Mathew Kuzhalnadan MLA. CPM Ernakulam District Secretary CN Mohanan alleged that Mathew Kuzhalnadan has illegally acquired property worth 29 times his income. Mohanan said that these figures are clear from the affidavit submitted by Mathew Kuzhalnadan to the Election Commission.

"The entire money for the purchase of land in Chinnakanal was paid from Mathew Kuzhalnadan's account. How could a person with an income of Rs 95 lakh pay Rs 3.5 crore in white money and buy land worth Rs 7 crore? Kuzhalnadan should be ready to clarify things in this regard. I am ready for an open debate," CN Mohanan said.

It is alleged that land and resort worth more than six crore rupees were acquired at Chinnakanal in Idukki through a benami transaction and tax worth lakhs of rupees was evaded. The complaint was filed stating that the Vigilance can investigate the complaints of corruption of public servants.
