THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Agriculture Minister P Prasad said that along with several schemes to find better income for the farmers, the agriculture department is also carrying out development works with the participation of farmers. He was speaking after distributing the state agricultural awards on the occasion of Chingam 1 Farmers' Day and inaugurating Kerala Agro Business Company (KABCO) and Poshaka Samriddhi Mission at Nishagandhi Auditorium.

"The target is to produce 28.5 lakh tonnes of vegetables. The mission aims to participate the maximum number of families in the state to grow vegetables and produce nutritious food. KABCO will be a company with shareholdings from the government, public markets, and financial institutions. NABARD was ready to take a share of KABCO," the minister said.

Minister V. Sivankutty presided over the function. Minister GR Anil said that farmers' products will also be sold through K-Store.
