IDUKKI: A three-member hunting team has been arrested after a bullet was recovered from the face of a man who died after found lying in a pool of blood in his bedroom at Mavadi in Nedumkandam. The three arrested are Saji (50) of Mavadi, Binu (40) of Mukulelparambil and Vineesh (38) of Muniyara. The shot fired at a wild animal accidently hit him.

The dead is Sunny Thomas (57) of Plakkal house. The shot hit Sunny on Wednesday night at 11.30 pm. His wife Sini, who was sleeping in another room heard a noise and when looked saw him lying in a pool of blood. The locals who rushed to their house after hearing Sini screaming, immediately informed the police. An investigation conducted led to the arrest of the three.

The accused saw a wild animal near Sunny’s house. Saji fired the shot aiming at it. Five bullets were fired. One of the bullets pierced his head.

Sunny was a farmer and has two daughters
