THIRUVANNATHPAURAM: The accused in the murder case of radio jockey Rajesh, has been sentenced to life. The Thiruvananthapuram First Additional District Sessions Court sentenced the second accused Muhammad Salih and the third accused Appunni to life imprisonment. A fine of Rs 2 lakh was also imposed.

The court directed to give the fine amount to the family of Rajesh. The accused were also sentenced to ten years rigorous imprisonment for using weapons. The court also ordered to undergo rigorous imprisonment after life sentence.

The court found Salih and Appunni guilty last Monday. The court had acquitted nine in the case due to lack of evidence. Rajesh was killed on March 27 in 2018. The murder was committed in the morning at his own recording studio at Madavoor in Kilimanoor.

A quotation group led by Muhammad Salih barged into his studio and hacked Rajesh to death. His friend Kuttan also sustained hack injuries. Abdul Sathar, the first accused in the case and a businessman in Qatar, native of Ochira, has not been arrested yet.

Rajesh, while working in Qatar had an extramarital affair with Sathar’s wife, a dance teacher. A suspicion following it led to the murder.
