LUCKNOW: An Uttar Pradesh native has been arrested for alleged links with Pakistan Intelligence agency ISI. The arrested person is Kaleem Ahmed who hails from Mominpura in Shamli district. According to the police report, Kaleem tried to encourage youths to spread jihad in India and investigated security systems in the country.
Police said that Kaleem Ahmed was working as an ISI agent. He returned from Pakistan four or five days ago. He was planning to carry out activities to destroy the unity and social harmony of the country. The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force stated in a statement that Kaleem had passed on pictures and WhatsApp messages about India's security systems to the ISI and other terrorist organizations in Pakistan.
According to the report, the police learnt about Kaleem's activities through an informant. After receiving the information, the police carried out a raid at Kaleem's house and arrested him. Kaleem's brother Taseem is also involved in anti-national activities. During the interrogation, Kaleem told the police that he met ISI officials when he went to meet his relatives in Pakistan. The ISI officials offered him money to make explosives and carry out attacks in India. They asked him to carry out activities that would destroy the religious harmony in India. The statement also stated that he was directed to work to make India an Islamic country.
The statement further stated that Kaleem had handed over pictures of defense systems, including Rafale fighter jets, to the ISI. He used a fake SIM for this.
