THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary M V Govindan scoffed at Mathew Kuzhalnadan MLA's challenge on whether the CPM secretariat was ready to release details of Exalogic, the company of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter Veena Vijayan.
"Who is he to challenge?" M V Govindan said while replying to the questions of the media.
Earlier, Mathew Kuzhalnadan had lashed out at the CPM. Speaking at a press conference, Kuzhalnadan said that the CPM raised financial charges against him as it did not know the value of sweat. Mathew Kuzhalnadan also challenged that the income and expenditure figures of his company can be verified by the person appointed by CPM.
CPM had alleged that Mathew Kuzhalnadan had illegally acquired property worth 29 times his income. CPM Ernakulam District Secretary CN Mohanan said that these figures are clear from the affidavit submitted by Mathew Kuzhalnadan to the Election Commission.
"The entire money for the purchase of land in Chinnakanal was paid from Mathew Kuzhalnadan's account. How could a person with an income of Rs 95 lakh pay Rs 3.5 crore in white money and buy land worth Rs 7 crore? Kuzhalnadan should be ready to clarify things in this regard. I am ready for an open debate," CN Mohanan said.
