ALAPPUZHA: Robbers are on the roll in Kerala, but this time, they might have traveled too far with their shenanigans. Such is their daring life that even famed politicians are not spared. AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal MP's house in Alappuzha was robbed after midnight on Thursday. A separate vault for expensive watches, pens, and letterheads was reported missing.

MP's staff member Ajmal and others were present at house ‘Rajeevam’ near Kaithavana till midnight. It is suspected that the robbery happened only after midnight. When the office staff came the next morning, the rooms were ramshackle which instilled doubts about a late-night intrusion.

The iron rod of the window was bent using thick wood to enter the house. The cupboards and shelves in the rooms were opened and all the things were pulled out. A police team headed by Alappuzha DYSP N R Jayaraj reached the spot and conducted an inspection.

CCTV visuals are being scrutinized. Fingerprint experts also reached the spot. A police dog sniffed the scene and stopped after running a few kilometers away.
