BHOPAL: It never passed into anyone's mind that a diatribe between two dog owners would end up in mayhem. Two people were shot dead. Six people were injured. The incident took place in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Vimal Amcha (35) and brother-in-law Rahul Verma (27) were killed. Neighbor Rajpal Rajawat was arrested by the police.
The incident happened in Indore's Krishna Bagh region. At 10 pm, Rajawat and Vimal went for a walk with their dogs. The dogs seeing each other barked and pounced ferociously to maul each other. This led to an argument between Rajawat and Vimal. Locals hearing the scuffle reached the place and alleviated the concern. Rajawat irate over the happenings, went back to his house and brandished his gun. Later he fired to the sky.
He then shockingly opened fire on the crowd. Vimal and Rahul died on the spot. Rahul's wife Jyoti was injured in the eye by a pellet. She is pregnant.
According to the Police, two other locals are critical with injury. Rajawat works as a security in a local bank. Earlier, Vimal's brother Pramod thrashed Rajawat's dog with a stick. Eyewitnesses say this led to the trouble. The video of Rajawat brandishing his gun has gone viral. The footage shows him taking out a gun and firing from the balcony. Rajawat's son Sudhir and cousin Subham were also taken into custody.
A case of murder has been registered against Rajawat while his gun license has been revoked.
