KOTTAYAM: A man who got stuck in a 35-foot deep well while trying to retrieve a phone was rescued by the fire force. The incident took place yesterday near Logos Junction, Kottayam.

Sabu (60) had gone to pick up a mobile phone that had fallen into a 35-foot-deep well. The well was narrow with little ventilation. However, he could not climb back and fell into it. After the locals informed the Kottayam fire force, a team led by grade assistant station officer Rejimon reached the spot.

Fire and rescue officer Ahmed Shafi Abbasi entered the well with a rope and pulled Sabu out using a chair. Fire and rescue officers Saju, Shiji, Anish and Sanal Sam were also involved in the rescue operation.
