CHENNAI: In a terrible incident, four in a family died in an accidental fire tragedy in Manali, Mathur. The incident took place when all members were in their sleep.

It is suspected that the mosquito repellant fixed on the power socket started a fire burning the whole house. A grandmother and her three grandchildren were sleeping in the bedroom when the smoke might have suffocated them to death. Grandmother Santana Lakshmi and grandchildren Priya Rakshita, Sandhya, and Pavitra are the deceased. The children's father got recently injured in a bike accident and was under treatment at a local hospital. Their mother too accompanied him to the hospital so the grandmother was given responsibility to take care of the children.

On Saturday morning, fire emanated from the house and it made the neighbors suspicious as they barged into the house only to find four dead bodies. Police point the death to suffocation due to inhaling carbon monoxide.
