KOCHI: 16 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 35000 for the accused who kidnapped and abused a school girl. Sabin Raj, a native of Thiruvananthapuram, Vizhinjam, was sentenced by the Perumbavoor Special Court.

It was understood that the child was abducted by Sabin on the basis of a missing case registered by the Thadiyittaparambu police in January 2021. He was then nabbed from a lodge in Velankanni. The abducted child was also with him. The accused met the child through Facebook from his friend's phone. The accused was granted bail in this case. However, Sabin, who was released, became an accused in the case of abducting a 14-year-old child from Ernakulam Central Station locality. With this, the existing bail was cancelled and he was kept in Ernakulam Sub Jail.
