THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A recent report is claiming that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has begun a preliminary investigation into the monthly quota controversy. It is reported that Chief Minister's daughter Veena Vijayan and the Exalogic company are under the ambit of investigation. It will be examined whether the case will stand as per the Prevention of Black Money Act. Inspections will be conducted focusing on the individuals and organizations mentioned in the document. The investigation is being carried out on the complaints received at ED's office in Kochi.
He alleged that Veena's company took more money from CMRL. The MLA raised the allegations by raising the figures of Veena's company. Mathew Kuzhalnadan also said that there are documents to prove that Veena's company took an additional Rs 42 lakhs from CMRL.
"Veena took Rs 42,48,000 from CMRL. She started the company in 2014-15. She invested 14 lakh rupees for this purpose. The company got Rs 25 lakhs in 2015-16. A total of 70 lakhs was spent that year. There was a loss of more than 44 lakhs. Later, Veena received 25 lakhs from the wife of CMRL's owner. 37 lakh was paid the following year. In the year 2017-18, the company had a profit of Rs 20.38 lakhs. The next year, there was a loss of Rs 17 lakh. After that, Veena spent 59 lakhs on the company," Mathew Kuzhalnadan said.
