KOCHI: Majority of the churches under the Ernakulam Angamaly Archdiocese could not implement the unified mass system. The believers stopped the priest who came to offer the united mass in Paravur and Manjapra. The priest who came to offer the mass in Paravur Kottakavu Church was stopped. The other group of believers stopped the priest.

With this, the church had to be closed. The priest was stopped by believers at the Mar Sleeva Forane Church in Manjapra. Here also the church had to be closed. Meantime, unified mass was implemented in Fort Kochi and Kakkanad Keezhmadu churches.

In the wake of a dispute over the mass, the mass is offered on the basis of the ultimatum of the Vatican representative. Archbishop Cyril Vasile has sent a letter to the priests under the Archdiocese of Ernakulam Angamaly asking them to offer a unified mass. A letter has been sent by registered post to ensure that everyone has received the instructions.

A section of priests and believers had informed that they would prevent the implementation of the unified mass in churches. Considering the possibility of a dispute, police security was arranged in churches.
