KOCHI: In yet another incident of gold trafficking, a man was caught at Nedumbassery airport with 666 gm gold. The gold was seized from Jafar Mon, who was returning to his native Malappuram from Abu Dhabi. Jafar had a special section in his innerwear dedicated solely to holding the gold, which was in paste form. Gold chains were also recovered from his socks during the customs inspection.

On August 12th, customs seized gold worth Rs 50 lakh from a man named Nizamuddin. When questioned, he confessed to smuggling gold but said it was only to find money for Dialysis treatment for his mother.
