NEW DELHI: The BJP has responded, stating that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's statement regarding China's encroachment on Ladakh is aimed at defaming India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi claims that India has not lost even an inch of land. However, during his visit to Ladakh, Rahul alleged that China continues to encroach. He expressed that there is heightened fear along the border and that the people of Ladakh are discontented after its designation as a union territory.

The BJP leader countered Rahul's claims as entirely false. He attributed the Chinese forces' withdrawal from Galwan to the valour and sacrifices of Indian soldiers. Ravi Shankar Prasad noted that it's Rahul's inclination to make statements favouring China. Union Minister Anurag Thakur further mentioned that Rahul was reportedly engaged in undisclosed discussions with Chinese officials while the Indian forces were responding to the Chinese army's actions. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia accused the Congress of initiating the 'Hindi Cheeni, Bhai Bhai' stance and relinquishing 45,000 square kilometers of Indian territory to China.
