NEW DELHI: Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari has unveiled India's first eight-lane elevated expressway. He shared the video of the highway on social media. The length of eight lines is 563 km. The four-package Dwarka Expressway starts from Delhi national highway 8 Shiva Murthy and ends at Kherki Dwala toll plaza in Gurugram, Haryana. 1200 trees were transplanted for the construction of the road. Dwarka Express is a first-of-its-kind project in India.
Nitin Gadkari shared the video and captioned it 'Marvel of engineering, Dwarka expressway, a State-of-the-Art Journey into the Future.
Once the project is completed, Delhi and Haryana will be further connected. According to the video, one can reach Manesar in Haryana from Dwarka in fifteen minutes. Indira Gandhi International Airport can be reached in 20 minutes from Manesar. There are three-lane service roads on both sides of the expressway.

According to the video, two lakh tonnes of steel were used for the construction of the expressway. This is 30 times more than what was used to build the Eiffel Tower in Paris. 20 lakh cubic cm of cement concrete was used in this project. This is six times more than what was used in the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building.
