NEW DELHI: The 17-member Indian squad for the 2023 Asia Cup has been announced. Captain Rohit Sharma and Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar announced the team in a press conference held in Delhi. KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer, who were sidelined for a long time due to injury, are back in the team. Sanju Samson is the reserve player. Hardik Pandya is the vice-captain in the Rohit Sharma-led team.
BCCI Secretary and ACC President Jay Shah announced that the Asia Cup matches will be hybrid this time. This time the matches will be held in 50 over format. The series will begin with a match between Nepal and Pakistan in Multan, Pakistan on August 30. India's first match in the series is against Pakistan in Kandy, Sri Lanka on September 2. India's next match is against Nepal on September 4. This match will also be held in Kandy itself. Three group matches and one Super Four match will be played in Pakistan.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Four stage. The top teams from the Super Four stage will reach the finals. The teams of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Nepal will be in the Asia Cup ODI series this time.
