PATHANAMTHITTA: A local DYFI leader was apprehended following a complaint that he had unlawfully entered the residence of a pregnant 19-year-old woman and sexually assaulted her. Vazhaparambil Shyam Kumar (29), the president of DYFI's Vaikkathillam unit was taken into custody by the Pulikkeezhu police in Pathanamthitta. The incident occurred at approximately 3 am on Sunday.

The 19-year-old woman had provided a statement to the police, alleging that the accused had trespassed into her house and subjected her to torment while her husband was away. The accused, who had been evading authorities was arrested this morning after being informed about the woman's complaint. Chief Investigating Officer Ajeeb stated that the accused would be brought before the court for proceedings.
