CHENNAI: India's first saffron-coloured Vande Bharat Express has completed its trial run. The rake with an orange-gray appearance was put on the track under the supervision of the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai. The test run of the eight-coach train took place between the coach factory and the Paddy railway flyover. The new colour is being tested on the grounds that the white-colored train coaches are catching dust quickly.

Earlier, there were reports that all existing Vande Bharat trains would undergo a colour change. However, contrary to reports, the railways have released only one rake with the new colour. Apart from the colour change, this train also incorporates 25 differences from the new batches of Vande Bharat, such as a system to shift the seats further back, a change in the wash basins, etc.
