dead-man-returns-aluva

ALUVA: He was found dead on the roadside pavement in Angamaly. However breaking all odds, Antony returned back to life on the seventh day of his ‘death’. Anthony(68) of Aluva Chunangamveli Aupadan house, boarded down from the bus at Choondi in the afternoon to make the 'impossible' return.

His close relatives were at the church, gathered for prayer as part of his 7th day of death. It was exactly at this time that news spread about ‘dead’ Antony’s return by bus. On August 14th, after receiving a call from police regarding a strange body lying on the roadside, the family members of Antony along with panchayat members visited the spot and even recognized the body as Antony’s. The body was then buried at St. Joseph's Church.

When Antony got off the bus, he saw his best friend Subramanian. Alerted by the presence, Subramaniam informed panchayath members and other family members about the strange return. The family members took Antony to his late brothers' house in Kulakkad. The family members later took Antony to the church where he stood thoughtfully in front of the gravestone that had his name on it.

Angamaly police later asked Antony to be present at the station. Antony, a tree cutter by profession had a hostile relationship with his family. It was normal for him to leave his house on occasions and his family never bothered to do the searching as they knew he would make a return. Antony is a history-sheeter and was jailed and remanded for robbery attempts, on many occasions.
