MUMBAI: A case has been filed against actor Prakash Raj for his distasteful tweet that demeaned India’s lunar ambition Chandrayaan-3. The case was registered by Banahatti police from Bagalkote district. The case was charged after receiving complaints from certain Hindu organisations.
Prakash Raj earlier tweeted a cartoon of a man preparing tea on the moon, which according to the actor was satirical but nevertheless was viewed in a poor light by the masses. Even congress leaders joined the bandwagon to criticize Prakash Raj. According to many critics, Prakash Raj could have saved his cartoon this time as ISRO’s Chandrayaan was a national project and long unfulfilled dream sans any politics.
After the incident became controversial, Prakash Raj said he intended to make a joke that Malayalees would be sipping tea on the moon and said he did not know which ‘chaiwala’ the trolls were looking at.
