MALAPPURAM: Vishnu, the accused in the Thuvvur Sujitha murder case, has been expelled from the primary membership of the Youth Congress. Youth Congress Malappuram District Committee informed that the party will not protect the accused. In addition, the party disclosed that Vishnu had been relieved of his party duties on May 24 owing to organizational reasons.

The body of Sujitha (35), the wife of Palliparambu native Manoj and a temporary worker at the Thuvvur Krishi Bhavan, was found in a decomposed state on the premises of Vishnu's house. Sujitha went missing on the 11th of this month.

The investigation moved towards Vishnu as Sujitha's phone location was last seen near Vishnu's house. As part of the subsequent investigation, Vishnu was taken into custody and questioned. During the questioning, Vishnu told police that the body was buried behind his house. The police later found that Vishnu's father, siblings, and a friend were also involved in the case.
