KANNUR: Newly surfaced footage showcases accused in the T P murder case traveling on a train without adhering to safety norms. The video, shared by MLA K K Rama shows Kodi Suni and M C Anoop undertaking a journey under police escort without wearing handcuffs.
K K Rama alleges that not only were these accused allowed to travel without restraints but supporters of their political party were also permitted to take photographs during their transit from Viyyur Central Jail to Kannur. Furthermore, the RMP leader criticizes the present administration for granting parole to hardened criminals thereby affording them the opportunity to commit repeat offenses. The Home Department faces severe censure for this state of affairs.
Below is K K Rama's Facebook post:
‘The preferential treatment accorded by the incumbent Left government to the accused parties involved in the TP murder case has repeatedly come to light. The latest addition is this video footage capturing the transportation of a convict, who had received a life sentence from the court from Viyyur to Kannur. Shockingly, the police seem to be providing an astonishing level of comfort to this highly dangerous criminal without even resorting to the basic measure of restraining him physically. Accompanying him is another accused, M C Anoop. Subsequently, Kannavam Police has filed a new case under reference number 489/23 against Anoop.
One must question whether this recent FIR pertains to a crime committed subsequent to his release on parole. It is confounding how he can be allowed to move about so freely despite a pending FIR against an individual who is out on parole.
This administration appears to be enabling serious criminals to exploit parole as an opportunity to engage in further criminal activities. The senior management seems to be taking an exceedingly lax approach even when dealing with such blatantly criminal elements. The Home Department's role in harbouring these criminals is particularly disheartening.’
