THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister M B Rajesh approved the Onam bonus to Beverages Corporation employees, which has uplifted the spirit of many during this year's festive season. Ex gratia is 19.25% and performance incentive is 10.25%. Rs 90,000 will be the maximum a single employee can collect as bonus.

Rs 35,000 will also be paid as Onam advance. It will be recovered in seven months. A maximum of five thousand rupees will be allowed to those appointed through employment exchange. Cleaning workers will get Rs 3500 as onam bonus. Rs 11,000 has been allowed as a bonus for security workers in warehouses and headquarters.

Along with Beverages Corporation, Travancore Sugars and Malabar Distillery employees have also been granted Onam Advance, and Ex gratia/Performance Incentive. Travancore Sugars will pay Rs 60,000 to permanent employees, Rs 21,000 to Kudumbashree employees, Rs 22,000 to daily wage workers, Rs 8,000 to security staff, and Rs 4,000 to transport workers. An advance of Rs 20,000 has been sanctioned to permanent employees and Rs 10,000 to daily wage earners and dependents.

Malabar Distilleries employees will be given one month's salary and Rs 4000 as an Onam festival allowance. Rs 24,000 was also sanctioned as Onam advance.
