THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The management has assured the labour unions that they will pay the salary and festival allowance to the KSRTC employees today.

The management said that they had earlier thought of giving a bonus of Rs 4000 to those whose basic salary is less than Rs 34,000, but it could not be implemented due to delay in government assistance. Last Onam festival allowance was not given. Of the 70 crores allocated by the finance department, 30 crores reached KSRTC's account yesterday. The management gave an assurance regarding the salary in the calculation that the remaining 40 crores will be received today. 20 crore overdraft has been secured. 80 crore is required for salary alone. 7.5 crore is required for the distribution of benefits.

It was decided in the discussion held on the 16th that was also present that last month's salary will be paid yesterday.

Ministers Antony Raju and V Sivankutty participated in the discussion. As the promise was not kept, various labor organizations were planning on going on strike. A meeting of the organizations was called yesterday evening.
