PANAJI: In an untoward incident, a group of Malayali tourists was attacked in a late-night ruckus at Porvorim, Goa. The incident happened at 11 pm on Sunday at Porvorim. A couple in intoxicated condition were seen assaulting and manhandling a restaurant cashier in one ugly late-night fight. The cashier was helpless and tried to evade the couple but was treated with punches and kicks from the woman.
A group of Malayalis witnessing the incident decided not to be spectators but resisted the attack on the cashier and tried talking a truce. However, more assaults followed, and the couple, mainly the woman abused the group and started an attack on them. In a video that is currently running viral across the internet, the woman can be seen continuing expletives at the group and restaurant staff. The police registered a case on a complaint from Shyam Krishna, a Malayali. North Goa SP assured the media about a detailed investigation into the issue.
Shyam Krisha and his friends were later threatened with murder by the couple and the woman was heard saying "Get out from here, this is my Goa..."
