KOCHI: The High Court decided on Wednesday to remove Amicus curiae Ranjith Marar from the 2017 actress assault case involving actor Dileep. The prosecution had argued in the court about Ranjith Marar's existing camaraderie with accused Dileep.

Financial transactions between Ranjith Marar and Dileep were presented before the court for perusal. It was after a detailed study that the court decided to exempt Marar from the case. Even Marar earlier beseeched the court to remove him from the position of Amicus curiae after allegations started surfacing about his bonhomie and business deals with actor Dileep.

The actress earlier requested a probe into the matter that saw the files in the memory card getting leaked. Amicus curiae Ranjith Marar was appointed to assist the court in the matter.
