THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSRTC CMD Biju Prabhakar said that all the employees should work together to get their salary without delay. In his Onam message to the employees through social media, he said that KSRTC can go ahead without the help of anyone else if the daily income reaches at least Rs 9 crore and the monthly income reaches Rs 300 crore.
Buses should not operate back to back without passengers. If there are more passengers at the bus stand, the bus should be run with at least temporary staff on a route with demand. The CMD also requested to run maximum number of buses from Aug 24 to 31 and generate revenue.
The message also mentions the employees' opposition to the duty reform. "Even after a year and a half of salary revision, the government is of the opinion that the KSRTC employees are not rising to the intended standards. The government also has a financial crisis. Wasn't it clear after the meeting of the ministers yesterday that there is no point in blaming me alone for the delay in the salary? Employees are disrespecting the organization and management in various ways. There is also some politics in it.", Biju Prabhakar said.
"Even though Rs 14 crores worth of spare parts are purchased every month, the mechanical top officials are also blamed for the inefficiency of their distribution. If 525 buses under maintenance are put to work, we will get Rs 25 crore more per month", Biju Prabhar said in his message. The audio message ends by hoping that this is the last Onam of the crisis.
