KANNUR: According to sources, Kerala will soon see the second Vande Bharat Express debut. Training for loco pilots started in Chennai. A pitline has also been set up in Mangalore. The change in timing of some trains on the Thiruvananthapuram - Mangalore route is an indication of this.

Currently, Vande Bharat departs from Thiruvananthapuram at 5.20 a.m. and reaches Kasaragod at 1.20 p.m. At the same time, the second Vande Bharat is expected to depart from Mangalore.

The timings of Thiruvananthapuram - Kannur Jan Shatabdi have been rescheduled. Jan Shatabdi will reach Kannur at 12.50 instead of 12.25. It will reach Kannur at 11.10 pm.

Electrified pit line ready for Vande Bharat in Mangaluru. At present, there are three pitlines under maintenance in Mangalore. The overhead line was drawn on one of these. Two loco pilots from Palakkad Division have started training at Avadi in Chennai. The mechanical department, which looks after technical matters, is also currently undergoing training in Chennai.
