MAYYIL: A 55-year-old man, Sajeev (55) from Kolacheriparambu Lakshamveedu Colony was found deceased in the residence of Grade SI Dinesan. The body was found covered in blood in the work area of Mayyil police station where Grade SI Dinesan resides. Dinesan was apprehended under the supervision of Mayyil Police Inspector T P Sumesh.

According to locals, Sajeev worked as a porter and would frequently visit SI Dinesan's house for drinks. The initial assessment by the police suggests that the murder likely occurred following a heated argument during their drinking session. Following the initial investigation, the body was transferred to Kannur Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination. Sajeev's wife Geeta is an Anganwadi activist and they have two children named Shreya and Shweta.
