KANNUR: Protest against the inclusion of K K Shailaja MLA's autobiography 'My Life as a Comrade' in the syllabus of Kannur University has arisen. Following the incorporation of this autobiography into the MA English syllabus, KPCTA, a teachers' organization has expressed their opposition.
KPCTA alleges that the syllabus was formulated unlawfully by an unauthorized ad hoc committee. In her autobiography, Shailaja has shared her experiences within the party and in her administrative roles working alongside the CPM leader and former health minister.
Meanwhile, the Curriculum Committee has provided clarification on this matter. The Convener of the Curriculum Committee stated that the study of autobiographies is not mandatory. The convener mentioned that the intention is to introduce local personalities and their experiences.
