THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Reports are claiming that a Class 7 student was made to sit on the floor and write his exam for not paying school fees on time. The incident took place in Sree Vidyadhiraja High School in Althara Junction, Thiruvananthapuram.
According to sources, it was Principal Jayaraj who came to the exam hall during the exam and made the boy sit on the floor.
"Those who did not pay the fees were asked to stand up. I told sir that I did not know and that they should ask my father. Sir replied that he didn't believe me. He then asked me to get out of the exam hall and sit on the floor. He also said publicly that those who do not pay the fees will have to sit on the floor," the boy said to a television channel.
When the boy's father contacted the school, the principal said that the boy was made to sit on a beautiful floor. The father said that he would no longer send his son to the school. The family has lodged a complaint with the Child Welfare Committee. Meanwhile, the school management has suspended the principal following the controversy.
