THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM State Secretary M.V. Govindan stated that the company associated with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter has duly paid all applicable taxes. Govindan made this declaration during a press conference. When asked about the possibility of the party releasing documents, the response was that the media would be responsible for presenting the documents. Aren't you the bearers of all that is factual and non-factual?

This company has been inactive since the outbreak of COVID-19. Does this situation arise due to the Chief Minister's support? Both companies have the right to engage in transactions through a contract. It is not inappropriate that the CPM State Secretariat previously issued a statement concerning this matter. They are merely presenting the facts. Not a single person has deviated from the party's stated position.

The actions of party leaders' children are not the party's direct responsibility. However, when it comes to criticizing party leaders, certain aspects need to be clarified. The party maintains the same stance in both Kodiyeri's son's and Pinarayi's daughter's cases.

Response to Media Inquiries

Question: The Chief Minister has yet to respond.

Govindan: The Chief Minister's response to the allegations hasn't been more significant than this. If there is truth, a response is warranted.

Question: The Chief Minister hasn't held a press conference for over six months.

Govindan: At one point, there was a notion that the Chief Minister's sole responsibility was to conduct press conferences. Now, some claim that press conferences are absent. Such queries don't merit a response. The Chief Minister hasn't refrained from addressing relevant matters. The press conference frequency reduced during the COVID-19 situation. However, presently, there are merely falsehoods propagated by the media. Organizing a press conference isn't a daunting task for the Chief Minister.

Question: Is meeting the Chief Minister necessary?

Govindan: That would indeed be appropriate to do.
