KOTTAYAM: The campaign in Puthupally has entered the third phase. There are ten days left for voting. All three candidates have activated their constituency tours intensifying the battle of words. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the ministers have ramped up the campaign highlighting the government's development achievements and pointing out the lack of progress in the Puthupally constituency. This has brought a wave of excitement to the left camp.

The Chief Minister's programs will be held in six panchayats for two more days while development meetings attended by ministers are ongoing. Opposition Leader V D Satheesan and BJP State President K Surendran have posed questions against the Chief Minister but he has not responded to any of them.

LDF candidate Jake C Thomas commenced a motor tour from Manarkad inaugurated by EP Jayarajan. Various meetings were attended by Ministers V N Vasavan, Saji Cherian, Veena George, K Rajan and Antony Raju. Chandy Oommen toured the Kuroppada panchayat yesterday. K C Venugopal, V D Satheesan, Thiruvanjoor Radhakrishnan and others led it. NDA candidate Lijinlal's constituency tour also started from Manarkad. BJP State President K Surendran, BDJS State President Tushar Vellapalli, and others participated.

There will be no UDF campaign today and tomorrow as the 40th and 41st death anniversaries of Oommen Chandy are observed. In the morning, breakfast will be served to 10,000 people followed by prayers at the tomb of Puthupally church. The Congress Smriti Yatra and Youth Congress Padayatra will take place. An incense prayer will also be held at the family home in Puthupally. Tomorrow, the 41st day will be commemorated at the Puthupally house in Thiruvananthapuram with special prayers.
