NEW DELHI: Ahead of India's Gaganyaan mission to send humans into space, a test flight of Vyommitra, a female humanoid robot, will take place in the second week of October, Union Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh said.
"Trials of the Gaganyaan project, which was delayed due to Covid, are progressing. The trial mission is planned for early October. Bringing astronauts back is just as important as sending them. In the second mission, a human-like female robot will be sent. If the trial is successful, the project will go ahead," the minister said.
