CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin conveyed his Onam wishes to Malayalees. Stalin said that we are brothers linguistically. He wished it to be a year in which the progressive ideas of South India would spread throughout the country.
At the same time, the Onasadya arranged by the Chief Minister at the Legislative Assembly building was attended by prominent people from the fields of politics, art, culture, spirituality and business. Musician Dr. K Omanakutty told Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan after the Onasadya at the Legislative Assembly that it was grander than the Vallasadya at Aranmula. The Chief Minister welcomed everyone outside the Sankaranarayanan Thambi Hall of the Legislative Assembly. Those who came wished the Chief Minister Happy Onam. The feast was after laying the foundation stone of the new Pampa block in the MLA hostel premises. Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan, who came to congratulate the foundation stone laying ceremony, did not attend the feast, but some MLAs, including those of the Muslim League, attended the banquet. The Chief Minister hosted a traditional Southern Sadya with 65 sets of dishes, including five sets of payasam, two types of bananas and two papadams.
