KOCHI: 'Keral Rajya Sarkar Ka Onam Bumper... Kerala Ithhas Ka Sabse Bada Upahar..'; this announcement is expected to blare down the streets as the lottery department has decided to advertise in different languages considering the popularity and the sales of lottery tickets among migrant laborers in Kerala. Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, and Assamese languages will be used for advertising.
‘Kerala Lottery not available online, buy only in paper form from direct sellers'; this will be yet another advertising catchphrase as the department looks to prevent illegal online sales in other states that use fake lottery names such as 'Kerala Mahalottery'.
Advertising will be done at lottery agencies, railway stations, and bus stands in Kerala. Advertising in different languages will use radio as a medium. All other lottery tickets apart from Onam Bumper will be subjected to reform right after selecting the winner for the Onam Bumper ticket.
35 lakh tickets of Onam Bumper have been sold so far. 40 lakh tickets have been issued in district offices. In the next phase, 20 lakh more tickets will be printed.
