NEW DELHI: The union cabinet’s price cut of LPG by Rs 200 per cylinder for all consumers will come into effect from Wednesday. The cabinet meet that convened yesterday decided to give a subsidy of Rs 200. With this, the price of a cylinder in Kerala will be Rs 910. The price of a cylinder in Kochi will be Rs 910 in Kochi and Rs 912 in Thiruvananthapuram. In Delhi, it has come down from Rs 1103 to Rs 903.
In addition to the reduction of Rs 200 already available to those under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, the concession of Rs 200 announced yesterday will also be available on cooking gas prices. With this, they will get a cylinder for Rs 710.

Union Minister Anurag Thakur had also informed that it has been decided to provide 75 lakhs new gas connections under the Pradhan Mantri Ujwal Yojana scheme. He said that this relaxation is the Prime Minister's Rakshabandhan-Onam gift. He also clarified about the price reduction as a big announcement for the welfare of the sisters in the country.
