mathew-kuzhalnadan

KOCHI: Muvattupuzha MLA Mathew Kuzhalnadan's law firm has filed a defamation case against CPM Ernakulam district secretary C N Mohanan. The firm 'KMNP Law' has demanded a compensation of Rs 2.50 crore. The plea has been filed in the Delhi High Court.

The demand is to tender a public apology or else money should be paid within seven days of receiving the notice. If he is not ready for this, will proceed with legal proceedings, mentioned the notice given to Mohanan through Supreme Court lawyer.

After Mathew Kuzhalnadan levelled allegation against chief minister’s daughter Veena Vijayan, C N Mohanan called a press conference in Ernakulam and raised counter-allegations. Meanwhile, allegations were raised against the law firm involving Kuzhalnadan. However, the company's stand is that Mohanan's allegations are baseless.

The notice has clarified that there is no black money transaction as Mohanan has raised and there is no office in Dubai. It is defamatory to make such an allegation against an institution which is working well in the legal field, said the notice.
