PALAKKAD: Three women drowned while taking a bath in the pond. The accident took place at Bhimanad Perinkulam in Mannarkkad. All the three dead are sisters. Rinshi (18), Ramsheena (23) and Nashida (26) of Bhimanad are the three dead. The three drowned in front of their father who was washing clothes. The three were taken out after half an hour. The father was in a condition where he could not even scream after seeing the tragedy.

Ramsheena and Nashida, who are married, reached home during Onam holidays. When one fell into the water, the other two tried to save her. With this, it is believed that all the three fell into the pond. It is a large pond with an area of one acre. The pond where the accident happened was inland. The information was conveyed to the locals by a migrant who came that way. By then it was too late. They were taken out by the locals and rushed them to a private hospital in Mannarkkad, but their lives could not be saved. The bodies will be handed over to the relatives after the post-mortem.
