KOTTAYAM: Poojappura police took the statement of Oommen Chandy's daughter Achu Oommen in the complaint filed against cyber attack. The statement was taken at her house in Puthuppally. Police registered a case against Nandakumar Kolathappilly, a left activist and former additional secretary of the secretariat. Nandakumar had apologized after the complaint.

Attack focusing on Achu Oommen's job, dressing and earnings became active on social media as the Puthuppally by-elections were heating up. The campaign of the Left supporters was a response to the financial irregularity controversy related to the Chief Minister's daughter Veena Vijayan.

Achu Oommen filed a complaint against Nandakumar Kolathappilly on Monday evening. Nandakumar, who had been making harsh posts till then, posted an apology on Facebook after the complaint. Nandakumar said, "It was not my intention to insult womanhood and I apologize unconditionally for the unintentional mistake".
